LEE FERGUSON
Lee Ferguson is an award-winning AP Biology teacher from Plano, Texas. Since 2003, she currently teachers at the Episcopal School of Dallas.  Previously she has taught AP Biology at Allen High School, the largest high school in the state of Texas where she grew the AP Bio program from 29 students to a peak of 430 students while removing barriers to participation so that all students have an equal opportunity to experience a rigorous science course and experience success in that course. She has taught all levels of biology, including sheltered biology as well as IB HL and SL Biology for the past 25 years.

Lee is highly active in science education at multiple levels. She sat on the Biology TEKS review committee in 2009, helping to author the state standards for Biology I courses taught in Texas. She has been an AP Reader since 2006, and an AP consultant since 2016. Lee has also reviewed various curriculum supplements and textbooks, written assessment items for various state biology and teacher certification exams and served on the College Board’s Instructional Design Team that developed training materials for AP Biology consultants. In 2012, she began the DFW AP Bio PLC, which provides teacher-led, teacher-centered professional development for AP Biology educators in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex. Lee currently serves as an HHMI BioInteractive Ambassador. Lee holds a BA in Biology from Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas, and her MAT in Science Education from The University of Texas at Dallas.

AP BIOLOGY COURSE DESCRIPTION
Over the course of this 4-day workshop, new and experienced teachers alike will become familiar with the newly updated Course and Exam Description (CED) in AP Biology. The updated CED organizes the course into eight commonly taught UNITS
