Mark Kiraly has taught at Ryan High School in Denton, TX since graduating from Michigan State University in 1993. Over the years he has taught nearly every mathematics class offered at Ryan in addition to a couple of years of physics. He has been teaching AP Calculus AB and BC since 1998. Mark was first an AP Reader in 2005 becoming a Table Leader in 2010. Starting in 2013, Mark was a Question Leader and has been an Exam Leader since 2020 through the 2025 exam. He has enjoyed helping to set standards and train readers on the reading of specific problems, including both secure and operational forms of the AB and BC exams.
Mr. Kiraly has been consulting since 2015 and enjoyed the opportunity to work with local teachers and those outside of Texas (ten states and counting). Since the spring of 2020, he and his good friend Virge Cornelius have been able to collaborate on the Calculus AB AP Live videos broadcasting on YouTube for 45 minutes each day (33 lessons in 2020 and 8 each in 2021-2024) to help hundreds of thousands of students worldwide prepare for the AP Calculus Exams. In the fall of 2020, he was named the Lead Teacher for AP Daily, a series of short videos in AP Classroom aligned to each topic from Calculus AB in the Course and Exam Description (CED). He is an active member of the online AP community working as admin on the AP Calc TEACHERS AB/BC Facebook group of over 10,000 teachers. In 2025, Mark joined the author team for the 2027 publishing of Demana Waits Kennedy Bressoud Boardman Kiraly Edition of Calculus - Graphical, Numerical, Algebraic 7th edition.
Mark enjoys working with others passionate about mathematics. He lives in Denton with his wife, an AP Biology teacher, their son and daughter, their pets and some poultry.

COURSE DESCRIPTION
AP CALCULUS AB COURSE DESCRIPTION
In this one day workshop we will focus on common questions from AP Teachers in the late fall, early winter topics ranging from analysis of differentiable functions through early applications of integration.
As we do this, we will look into the scoring of at least one of the released free response questions from the 2026 AP Exam.
Participants will have a chance in the morning to have input on the afternoon content.
