MATT TASSINARI Matt Tassinari is a distinguished educator with over 30 years of experience teaching AP U.S. History at Palmdale High School, where he serves as Social Science Department Chair and Academic Instructional Coach. A recognized leader in his field, he was honored as the 2009 High School Teacher of the Year by the California Council for the Social Studies. His expertise extends nationally through his extensive work with the College Board. Since 2001, he has been an AP Exam Reader, including 22 years in leadership as a Table Leader and Sample Selector. As a College Board consultant for over two decades, he has led professional development workshops for educators across the United States. |

APUSH ONE-DAY WORKSHOP COURSE DESCRIPTION
This one-day AP U.S. History workshop gives teachers clear, ready-to-use tools to help students do well in class and on the test. Through group work and active practice, teachers will get better at teaching basic APUSH skills and historical thinking.
We will cover ways to teach Document-Based Questions, Short-Answer Questions, and Long Essay Questions. The training focuses on boosting student writing, reading sources, making arguments, and planning out the school year. You will also learn fresh ways to handle multiple-choice questions and break down historical documents.
By the end of the day, attendees will leave with adaptable materials, instructional routines, and ideas they can use right away to support student growth and success.
