COURSE DESCRIPTION
For the needs of new and beginning teachers, this AP Art and Design Institute will thoroughly cover the structure and requirement details of both sections of all three Exam Portfolios: 2D Design, 3D Design, and Drawing. Participants will have the opportunity to engage with the most recent rubrics together with mock reading sessions using exemplary student work. We will view the most up-to-date presentations used to train readers, discuss scoring issues, and share insights on how best to help students succeed. As we review the current portfolio criteria, a special emphasis will be placed on the Sustained Investigation Section of each exam. Sketchbook/journal strategies together with developing essential inquiry questions will be reflected in our studio component. By the end of the session, participants will gain confidence in their ability to prepare students for the rigor of AP Art and Design Exam Portfolios.
